The
Government launched the ChildcareLink helpline
and website in December 1999 as part of the
National Childcare Strategy. This strategy aims
to help people back into the workplace by
removing the childcare barrier. The
ChildcareLink service is funded by the
Department for Education and Skills and the
Scottish Executive.
This is
a partnership of agencies and providers of
childcare and early education. The EYDCP has a
strategic role to play in the development of
services for children. Principally it has a role
in developing places, co-ordinating training,
recruiting to the workforce and developing the
quality of provision for children.
Sure
Start is a Government funded programme that
works to improve the quality of life for
children from birth through to 4 years of age
and their families. We aim to achieve this goal
through a wide range of new or improved
services.
Eastlea
